Friends
of Lakeside Nature Center, Inc. was founded in 1983 as a support
group of volunteers for Lakeside Nature Center. The Friends
organization, which is not-for-profit, has over 100 active
volunteers that provide hands-on support for wildlife rehabilitation,
education, and conservation activities. FOLNC volunteers provide
support in fundraising, special events, publishing a newsletter,
and helping with other daily activities.
Volunteers
interested in wildlife rehabilitation spend 30 hours with
a mentor and attend classes to learn to work with wild animals.
If you are interested in education, the
Friends offer classes and mentoring. Members pay a small annual dues and receive a newsletter. Call
the Center at (816) 513-8960, or email
us at folnc@crn.org,
to see how you can become a FOLNC
member. Download a membership
application
here.
Short
on time? You can become an auxiliary member and help with
special events, conservation work days, and during special
projects. Call the Center to see what opportunities are available
for you.
